With 4 different varieties of Dioscorea opposita Thumb as materials,different rooting agent on different varieties of yam cuttings rooting effect were tested.The results showed that was ‘Guihuai 2’ cutting seedlings of ground and underground part grew well，followed by was ‘Guihuai 5’‘Beihuai’s root growth was the worst；3 rooting agent on varieties of rooting condition were different，root seedling agent of ‘Fangxin’ had better effect on ‘Guihuai 5’ and ‘Beihuai’,rooting power of ‘Qiangli’ had better effect on ‘Guihuai 5’,‘Tiegun Huaishan’ could be treated by ‘Qiangli’ and root seedling agent ‘G.A-6’.Therefone, in the actual processing,different varieties using different rooting agent were suggested.
