Abstract:
Threecoldresistingmeasuressuchaswraping-strawonstemwindbreakandspraying-mixtureoflime-sulfurandlimeonstemwereexecutivedonMagnoliagrandifloraL.seedlings,andtheirprotectingeffectswererespectivelyreservedanddeterminedinthisexperiment.Theresultsshowedthatbothwraping-strawandwindbreakobviouslypreventedtheseseedlingsfromcoldstress,thelatter’sprotectionwastheevidentestandtheseedlingscoatedbythemixturegotthemostseriousdamageinthethreemeasures.AsforyoungtreesofMagnoliagrandifloraL.,thecold-toleranceofseedlingswasstrongerthanthatofgraftedonesbycomparingtheircold-resistantindices.
